About the Artist

I’m Nic Morgan, founder of Hireth Jewelry. Born in the Cotswolds and raised in the south of Wales, I now live in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve always been drawn to small, intricate things. With a background in illustration and sculpture, I turned to metalsmithing in 2016 and began creating under the name Hireth in 2020, during the height of the pandemic.

From my studio in Avondale Estates, I work in sterling silver and semi precious gemstones, creating hand-forged pieces that feel both beautiful and eerie—like relics carrying secrets. My work is shaped by a love of miniature detail, strange histories, and the uncanny. I believe beauty lives in imperfections, in the unexpected, and in the things that make you look twice.

I also teach, and love helping others bring their ideas to life. Problem solving is one of my favorite parts of making art—it’s like puzzle-solving with fire and metal.

Outside of my studio, I love being outdoors but hate being too hot or too cold (and am always one or the other). There’s a slim chance I drink too much, both wine and coffee. I enjoy my own company. I am stubborn to a fault, and have never been on time for anything in my life. I love my dogs, am lactose intolerant, and green is my favourite color (I also flipflop between the British and American spelling of things, and can never remember if the month or the day comes first).

Hireth in Cornish, Hireath in Welsh -  a homesickness, intense longing, or nostalgia for a home to which you cannot return, or for a home that never existed.
